The Question of Relative Truth

Society is pushing for this absolute acceptance of all truths being true. Now then, I realize how absurd that sounds but think about it everyone is preaching about their individual truth and that everyone can have different truths. But what is Truth?

By definition, truth is a factual statement that excludes its opposite. A non theistic example would be 1 foot = 12 inches, this is a factual statement that excludes all variances from 1 foot = 12 inches. A theistic example would be God created the universe, again this excludes all other origins for the universe.

With that definition in mind, it is quite easy to see that if every truth is not absolute in other words if every truth is not true to everyone then it is simply not true. Therefore the statement "all truths are relative truths" in its claim asserts itself as absolute but its claim is that all truths are relative therefore it does not meet its own standard. From this we can further understand that if a statement defeats itself its antithesis could be true and since every truth cannot be relative some truths must be absolutely true.

From all this I simply say, Truth must be absolutely applicable in order to be true.
