The Armor of Light

Romans 13: 12, "The night is nearly over, and the daylight is near, so let us discard the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light".

To begin, this verse is very clear about the reality of this world. Darkness is receding as a result of Christ, the final victory has been achieved, but with this also comes the fact that as light shines darkness fights even harder to overtake it. For Christians this is especially true as we are promised persecution. We are promised that the Devil will try any way to pull our attentions away from God. So we must put on the armor of light, which is Jesus Christ, we must let Him dwell within us. We must allow the Holy Spirit to work within us. We must allow these things for without them, how can we even say that we follow Christ at all?

The Church's Hypocrisy must stop, it is the largest enemy to evangelism, it is the largest enemy to grace. For it is our inability to love everybody while holding firm to what we know is truth that prevents us from reaching everyone we know. I cannot emphasize this enough, each one of us must take up arms against hypocrisy in our fellow believers and in ourselves. We must represent Christ for without Him we are truly nothing.... Our flesh fights against the commands of God, but by the strength of our relationship and trust in Christ we shall overcome the barriers that Satan puts before us.

We must put on The Armor of Light. We must put on The Armor that is Jesus Christ. I pray that we would all become better at this and that God would reach others through our lives.
