Dear Fear

Like me there are probably a good number of you that struggle with fear, whether it be of rejection, of failure, of addiction, of your past, or of your future. I cannot say anything as an expert on these but I can offer insight as someone who has over come my own fears regarding failure and the future. We are children of God first and foremost, in the book of proverbs we see that the beginning of wisdom is the fear of God but it is not fear that paralyzes or prevents us from taking action, it is a fear that is rooted in amazement and wonder. As Christians we must put the things of this world that we fear aside for in God who is our refuge there is nothing that will overcome us. We have nothing to fear except God when we are fully obedient and in His hands. We must not let fear control us for it is a tool of the devil, you probably remember that feeling as a kid when you were afraid of getting in trouble and you lied to try and cover yourself, whether it be over a cookie or wearing your moms favorite necklace and loosing it. The devil used that fear and embarrassment to pull you into sin, this is why we must overcome the fears in our life. We must be brave enough to stand against fear even when it seems as though it is the largest thing in the world because we do not have "BIG" problems we have a BIG GOD!
